YEREVAN. - 691 women from capital city Yerevan and 313 from Armenian provinces, who were subjected to domestic violence, contacted the hot line of Women’s Rights Center in the period from the beginning of 2015 till August 31.

In comparison to the previous years, the number of recurremces has increased, which is related not to the increase in the number of incidents, but rise in women’s awareness, the centre representatives told Armenian News – NEWS.am. 

The significant part of the recurrences had to do with psychological violence. Only half of the cases concerned physical violence, a small part relating to sexual violence.
