Iranian gas supply to Turkey, which was stopped as a result of a blast in natural gas pipeline, will be resumed after 7-8 days, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said Aug.25 after meeting with the Syrian Ambassador in Ankara Nidal Kabalan, Trend News reports.

"Gas from Azerbaijan and Russia fully satisfies Turkey's needs," Yildiz said. Kabalan stressed the construction of the Turkish-Syrian part of the "Arab Gas Pipeline" comes to the last stage.

"This line will join Nabucco in the future," the Ambassador said.

According to Yildiz, the construction of the remaining 55 kilometers of the Turkish part of the 1200-kilometer line will end by late 2011.

A heavy blast hit a gas pipeline, transporting natural gas from Iran to Turkey in Tuesday evening in Eleshkirt in the Turkish province of Agri. The Iranian gas supply to Turkey was suspended as a result of the blast.
