“First, Azerbaijan cannot stop issuing statements on resumption of hostilities. Secondly, if they want, why cannot they resume hostilities,” Manvel Grigoryan, Chairman of the Yerkrapah Union of Volunteers, told the 168 zham newspaper. Responding to the question: “Do the world powers that are interested in Nagorno-Karabakh allow it to?”, Grigoryan said: “That is why Azerbaijan is constantly saying to them: ‘If you are unable to resolve the issue, I will do’ One nice day it may say: ‘Dear friends, I have warned you thousands of times’. It will thus create a basis for itself. A threat of war does and will exist.”

As to the authorities’ opinion that longer presence of the Russian military base is a guarantee of Armenia’s security, whereas the Opposition considers it a threat to the country’s sovereignty, General Grigoryan said: “It is bad if any other nation seeks to exercise power in our country.”
