The United Nations headquarters in New York have for the first time raised the Palestinian flag, BBC News reports.
According to the Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, this is a historic event and September 30 will be the Palestinian flag day.
Earlier, the UN General Assembly passed by a majority of votes a resolution, which allows rising in the UN headquarters and offices the flags of the states which are not members of UN, but have a status of observers.
