“We should soberly assess the situation and not make emotional statements that we do not need to go. The question is to go or not to go Akhtamar,” Director of Genocide Museum Hayk Demoyan said, commenting on the participation of the Armenian citizens in the liturgy of Surb Khach Church on Akhtamar Island, to be held on September 19.

“Armenia should be presented not at a high level, for the Turks not to have the impression the Armenian side is ready to actively respond to their every propaganda and play into their hands. We should show we understood it is a publicity event,” Demoyan stressed.

“One who is able to signal the Turkish side by his statements and visit that it is not their cultural heritage, but ours, should leave for Akhtamar. I think, not a high ranking clergyman is the one to go,” he said.
