The Great House of Cilicia will not participate in the official opening ceremony of the Surb Khach Church on Akhtamar Island. The Great House thus considers it adopts a clear stance on Ankara’s attempts to cause confusion in the Armenian society and present the country as a human rights advocate to the international community, Asbarez.com reports referring to the press service of the Great House of Cilicia.

“It is obvious Turkey tries to be presented as a peace loving country to the international community and to the Armenian nation masked with the Genocide denial policy,” the press service reports.

As NEWS.am reported previously, on September 19 a liturgy service will be held in the Armenian Church Surb Khach located on Akhtamar Island in Lake Van. Aram Archbishop Ateshyan, Head of the Religious Council of the Armenian Patriarchate will conduct the ceremony.
