The activities to provide the island with solar energy have completed on Akhtamar Island in Lake Van, Turkish Taraf daily reports.
According to the source, the solar batteries set by the project of the Eastern Anatolian Development Agency, will light up the island for 25 years. Besides the Surb Khach Church on Akhtamar, roads, cafes of the island will also be lit up.
The $130.000-project aims at increasing the flow of tourists to Akhtamar.
