YEREVAN. - Decision of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun to hold a separate agitation campaign in favor of the amendments to the Constitution is to be respected. Eduard Sharmazanov, Armenia’s ruling Republican Party (RPA) spokesman and Vice President of the Parliament told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am today after the RPA’s executive body session.

The RPA itself is going to not only organize its own campaign, but also consult with other political forces supporting the amendments.

“RPA is always for cooperation, and it would be strange if we decided to act differently this time. We respect Dashkatsutyun’s decision. This is one of the traditional Armenian parties, and this year it became 125 years old. It takes independent decisions and I’m not the one to give judgments on them,” Sharmazanov said.

On October 5, the Armenian parliament approved the draft constitutional reforms of Armenia. Under the new Constitution, Armenia will shift from semi-presidential to parliamentary form of governance.
