The family of Gevorgyans was included in Dzyutsaznagirk (Armenian analogue of the Guinness book of records), having painted the portraits of 132 Armenian catholicoses on ostrich eggs.

“We made 3 records at once. In no case is the cross repeated on the eggs; the lower part of the eggs depicts portraits. And below them, we restored 264 churches of Armenia,” Karapet Gevorgyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

The Gevorgyans tell with pride that they were the first to bring ostriches to Armenia. And 10 years ago, builder Karapet decided to draw portraits and miniatures on ostrich  eggs with the help of his painter daughter.

“We created something that exists neither in Armenia nor in the world. We even have a copyright on this,” he said.

The portraits of famous people, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Armenian Armenian businessman and philantropist Ruben Vardanyan, Alla Pugachova, Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan and others have appeared on ostrich eggs.

Gevorgyans are also taking orders.

Part of the Gevorgyans’ works is currently displayed at the fifth international jewelry exhibition “Yerevan Show 2015.”
