YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) will hold provincial meetings ahead of the forthcoming referendum on constitutional amendments.

RPA National Assembly (NA) Faction member Karen Karapetyan, who is also deputy chief of the RPA’s headquarters for the “Yes” campaign to this referendum, on Monday told the aforesaid to reporters in the NA.

“It’s difficult to say what kind of meetings there will be,” he added. “There will be a specific approach in each region.”

To the query on whether it will be possible to convince the people to say “yes” to this plebiscite, Karapetyan responded: “I think, yes, it will be possible.”

The RPA recently established its above-said campaign headquarters, and Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan was appointed its chief.

The referendum on Armenia’s draft constitutional amendments is slated for December 6.

Pursuant to the new draft Constitution, the country will make a transition from a semi-presidential to a parliamentary system of governance.
