While Azerbaijan is trying to withdraw the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict from OSCE Minsk Group format, Armenia should launch the international recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh, Chairman of RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Armen Rustamyan stated at a press conference on Tuesday.
“The National Assembly of Armenia should become the standard-bearer in the process and we should take Kosovo’s lead,” Rustamyan said. He also stressed the signing of an agreement on the establishment of politico-military tandem between Armenia and Karabakh will contribute to the process. “Thus, Armenia-Karabakh tandem will oppose Turkish-Azerbaijani duo,” the MP stressed, adding he intends to raise the issue in the near future.
According to him, unless the Armenian authorities address the recognition of Karabakh, the international community will not consider it. Meanwhile, Rustamyan noted the authorities take timid actions in this direction.
He also stressed the need for the overpopulation of the NKR-controlled territories. “Today, Azerbaijan constantly raises the issue on its refugees, Armenia compensated all the loss of property and the corresponding document will prove it. The Armenian refugees lost everything,” the parliamentarian concluded.
