YEREVAN. – Membership to the Eurasian Economic Union has been a problem for those having dual Armenian and Iranian citizenship, Finance Minister Gagik Khachatryan said in the parliament on Wednesday.
His comment came in response to the question raised by ARF Dashnaktsutyun deputy Armen Rustamyan. The MP said those having dual citizenship have been facing difficulties with crossing the border since summer, as they need to pay a customs tax for their vehicles on the border.
“In the context of joining Eurasian Economic Union, we need time to have deeper understanding of a number of procedural matters, including the one related to the crossing of border by people with dual citizenship of Armenia and Iran,” the Minister said.
