Driver of the passenger bus that crashed en route from Moscow to Yerevan, Garnik Harutyunyan, 44, lost control of the vehicle, which, in turn, went on to the left lane and roadside, and hit a metal roadside barrier.

Press service of the Prosecutor’s Office of Tula Oblast (province), Russia, informed the above-said.

Subsequently, the bus entered the road again, crossed two lanes, entered the right roadside, hit a metal roadside barrier, and turned over to the right side.

The accident killed eight people, and 32 injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

There were two teenagers in the bus.

There are no minors among the dead.

The driver sustained minor injuries

A criminal case has opened on charges of “Recklessly causing the death of two or more persons as a result of breaking the road traffic and vehicle operation rules.”

The passenger bus, which was traveling from Moscow to Yerevan, had the accident on Tuesday at around 2:10am, nearby Ilinka village in the Uzlovsky District in Tula Oblast, Russia.

There were 59 passengers on the bus.

At present, there are reports on eight casualties and 48 injured.

A technical malfunction in the vehicle is considered a probable cause of this tragedy.

There is also a possibility that the bus driver might have fallen asleep behind the steering wheel.
