Bodies of the passengers who died as a result of the bus crash in Russia’s Tula Oblast (province) in the night from November 2 to 3, may be transported to Armenia on Wednesday. Artak Ghazaryan, representative of the Armenian Embassy in Russia told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to him, Armenia’s governmental committee will be in Tula in the morning and its members will meet with the Russian colleagues. “Those who are able to, will perhaps come to Armenia on November 4. The bodies of the dead passengers might also be transported the same day,” Ghazaryan said. It remains unknown whether those injured, who are currently in Tula district hospitals, will be transported to Yerevan.

The passenger bus, which was traveling from Moscow to Yerevan, had the accident on Tuesday at around 2:10am, in the Uzlovsky District in Tula Oblast (province), Russia.

There were 59 passengers on the bus, but no children were among them.

At present, there are reports on eight casualties and 47 injured, and the latter were taken to the nearby hospitals.

A technical malfunction in the vehicle is considered a probable cause of this tragedy. But there is also a possibility that the bus driver might have fallen asleep behind the steering wheel.

Driver Garnik Harutyunyan was arrested in connection with the incident.
