UEFA President Michel Platini participated in the opening ceremony of a new-built republican center of the Armenian national football teams in Yerevan. Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan was present at the ceremony and awarded Platini an Order of Honor.

The UEFA allocated $7, 475,000 for the construction, while the Armenian Football Federation – $4, 125,000. Another $400,000 was granted by the International Federation of Football. Multifunctional complex provides swimmers, tennis players and other sportsmen with an opportunity to train in the center. Head of the Armenian Football Federation Ruben Hayrapetyan, Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan and head of Armenian National Olympic Committee Gagik Tsarukyan were also present at the ceremony.
