The joint headquarters of Armenian opposition struggling against constitutional amendments held an awareness march in downtown Yerevan today, urging the citizens to take part in the rally scheduled for December 1.

The march participants walked across the capital’s central streets calling on the citizens to join them and carry out power change before the referendum.

“There's no need to persuade people; they know very well that it's necessary to vote against the constitutional amendments. We urge to come to [Yerevan's] Liberty Square on December 1 and carry out power change together,” Founding Parliament initiative member Gevorg Safaryan told Armenian News – NEWS.am after the march.

The joint headquarters declined to provide details on what to expect on December 1. According to Safaryan, they will demand power change by civic disobedience, following which the referendum on constitutional amendments will be cancelled.

The rally scheduled for December 1 was initiated by “New Armenia” Public Salvation  Front.
