The sources of Armenian News-NEWS.am have informed that the attorney of Garnik Harutyunyan, the driver of the Armenian passenger bus that recently crashed in Russia, appealed his client’s arrest.

We have learned, however, that the Russian court rejected the respective petition.

Nine people were killed and over forty others were injured as a passenger bus, which was traveling from Moscow to Yerevan, crashed on November 3, in Tula Oblast (province) in Russia.

Both Armenia and Russia have opened criminal cases into this tragic road accident.

On November 4, Garnik Harutyunyan was taken into custody for two months.

And on November 12, he was charged with “vehicle operation, which resulted in the death of two or more persons.”
