Hungary intends to join AGRI Azerbaijani-Romanian-Georgian energy project (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector). Implementation of the project will enable to transport liquified gas from the Caspian region to Europe, Romanian President Traian Basescu said after the talks held with Hungarian FM Janos Martonyi, Trend reported.

The project on supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Romania provides for construction of two terminals (in Georgia and Romania) for liquified gas. Under preliminary calculations the project is estimated at € 4-6 bn.

Romania, Georgia and Azerbaijan signed a protocol this May on forming a joint venture to export liquified natural gas. In April, the sides also signed memorandum of understanding on the supply of liquefied gas.
