During the provincial meetings, representatives of Armenia’s “Founding Parliament” opposition group made sure that the number of people saying “no” to the constitutional amendments is big, but there is a concern that the results of the December 6 referendum will be rigged. Irina Harutyunyan, member of the “Founding Parliament,” said the aforementioned at the rally of the “No” front held in Yerevan’s Liberty Square. According to her, to prevent such a referendum, it’s necessary to “solve the issue before December 6”.
For her part, “Heritage” party member Susanna Muradyan said that the constitutional amendments are a “risky undertaking.” According to her, the acting Constitution is not to blame for the current situation in Armenia.
All the speakers attached attention to the unification of the opposition forces, stating that in that case it would be possible to scuttle the constitutional referendum.
