Over the recent years, the Presidents and Foreign Ministers of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, as well as the Foreign Ministers of the OSCE member-states have adopted several resolutions clearly indicating the main issue of the negotiation process, Nagorno-Karabakh’s status determined by a legally-binding expression of will. However, Azerbaijan is making vain attempts to divert the international community’s attention from this issue, Tigran Balayan, Spokesman for the RA foreign office, told NEWS.am, commenting on Azeri Deputy FM Araz Azimov’s statement that Yerevan rejected the mediators’ proposal for settlement.

Mr. Azimov has never taken part in the major meetings within the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process and has no first-hand knowledge. “Mr. Azimov’s superiors are obviously deceiving him for him, in turn, to go on deceiving the public with greater confidence,” Balayan said.
