YEREVAN. - Armenia will have the second private retransmission network. Armenia’s First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communication Arthur Arakelyan said the aforementioned, introducing the package of bills on Television and Radio, as well as on Licensing.

He reminded that the countries of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) will stop supporting analogous broadcasting since 1 January 2016. Only digital television transition is left, and along with the state retransmission network (which has already been digitized), a private one will appear as an alternative to TV companies.

A private investor is going to invest nearly 10 bln AMD (approx. $21 mln).  The state will determine 1 percent or 100 mln AMD for the annual duty, considering the amount of the company income.
