Hayk Ananyan, 25, graduated from the Graphic Design Department of the Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts and the Moscow State University of Design and Technology (MSUDT).

Each pair of women's shoes designed by him is unique, and each of them must be perfect, Anayan says.  The young designer is sure that high-heel shoes are an ideal way to make a woman beautiful.

Even if the shoes aren’t on high heels, something must still be attractive in them. It is exactly by “shoes-control.” that he assesses ladies. If a girl manages to draw his attention by her shoes, the acquaintance grows into intimacy and event into a new model symbolizing the acquaintance.

During his years of study in Yerevan, Hayk realized his vocation and went to study in Barcelona, also sending his application package to the MSUDT.  “I was lying on the beach in Barcelona, when my family members called and said I was admitted in Moscow. I didn’t have any winter clothes with me, but I arranged everything in one night and left for Moscow. After the flowers in Barcelona I suffered from depression in Moscow. I had arrived for three weeks and had to return to Barcelona, since my documents weren’t ready yet. I was on my way to the airport when they phoned me and said the University President had himself put a stamp on my application. I didn’t want to return but then I changed my mind, since I had been admitted to the department I wanted,” Hayk said.

In Moscow the young man saw an announcement on an international contest of young designers. The University leadership approached Hayk’s participation in the contest with skepticism. After a long struggle, he presented a small collection of four pairs of shoes in the contest and became a winner. This way Hayk began his career. First he only dealt with shoe design, but then began to also sew, not trusting others.

Currently, he gets orders mainly from the well-off in Russia. He sold his most expensive shoes – $3300 per pair – to an Arab wealthy man, who bought them for his beloved woman.

Hayk is not that enthusiastic about men’s shoes, but still occasionally he sews shoes for himself and his friends.
