Recently, an unprecedented import of drugs to Armenia from Iran has been registered, the Hraparak daily reports, referring to a source in law enforcement agencies.

Every day, the agencies record similar cases.

On September 8, 4.331 kilograms of hemp was collected and entirely burnt in Armenia after operative investigations within the framework of the "Hemp-Poppy 2010".  

According to Arthur Poghosyan, a doctor in a drug abuse centre, in 2001, 7 drug addicts received treatment in the centre, whereas their number reached 1000 in 2009.
