STEPANAKERT. – President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR, or Artsakh), Bako Sahakyan, signed a decree, reported the Central Information Department of the Office of the NKR President.

Accordingly, Private Aramayis Voskanyan of the NKR Defense Army has been posthumously awarded the Medal for Service in Battle, and in recognition of his bravery shown during the defense of Artsakh’s state border.

Defense Army serviceman Aramayis Voskanyan (born in 1996) had sustained a fatal gunshot wound on January 9 at around 9:30pm, at a military foothold of an NKR Defense Army unit, and as a result of the shots fired by Azerbaijan.

An investigation is underway to find out the details of this incident, informed the press service of the NKR Ministry of Defense.
