A fatwa (Islamic edict) by the Presidency of Religious Affairs of Turkey received a huge reaction in the country.
The fatwa notes that after a sexual intercourse between a man and a woman, no one—including the parents—has the right to touch a fetus, reported Sözcü daily of Turkey.
In this connection, the said fatwa cited Islamic sources stressing that the person who artificially terminates the growth of a fetus shall give either five camels, or 212 grams of gold.
