An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 was recorded Tuesday morning in Azerbaijan, and it was also felt in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) and in Armenia.

Press service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the tremor, which the seismological network of the ministry’s “Survey for Seismic Protection” Agency registered in Azerbaijan, measured magnitude 5-6 at the epicenter.

Its hypocenter was 10km beneath the surface.

The seismic activity was felt with a magnitude of 3-4 in capital city Stepanakert as well as in Askeran, Hadrut, Shushi and Berdzor towns in the NKR, and in Kajaran and Kapan towns in Syunik Province of Armenia.
