The EU-Turkey strategic dialogue is not an alternative to Turkey’s full membership, Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, stated at her meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in Brussels.

TRT Russian reports that the EU official underlined the importance of developing the EU-Turkey strategic dialogue. Catherine Ashton voiced her support for Turkey’s full membership in the EU.

The meeting lasted for more than two years.
