RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received September 12 U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, Tina Kaidanow, who arrived in Yerevan the day before.

The press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed NEWS.am that Minister Nalbandian pointed out Armenia attaches high importance to developing friendly relations with the United States.

The sides pointed out that the bilateral relations have recently reached a new level, one of the reasons being RA President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Washington and his meetings with U.S. President Barack Obama and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In this context the sides thoroughly discussed opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation. Tina Kaidanow stressed that Armenia is one of the USA’s important partners. Washington intends to develop bilateral relations in economic, reform and regional security fields.

Minister Nalbandian and Tina Kaidanow exchanged views on the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, regional and international issues.
