YEREVAN. – The export promotion effectiveness in Armenia depends on the exchange rate of the Russian ruble. If the exchange rate is high, the result of the Armenian government’s respective measures will become apparent. But if it devalues, we will not have the outcome that we expect.
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia MP—and businessman—Aleksan Petrosyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
“Export promotion is a string of interconnected problems, and we [i.e. Armenia] need to know what result we will have by resolving which problem, what place we will occupy in the market, and so move forward,” the MP said. “Continuing with this situation has become impossible; some steps should definitely be taken.”
Petrosyan added that the respective discussions launched by the Armenian Prime Minister, Hovik Abrahamyan, are still in progress.
