Fruit consumption has significantly reduced in Russia, and this is due to the drop in the exchange rate of the ruble and the declining purchasing power of Russians.

Executive director of the Fruit and Vegetable Producers, Importers and Exporters Association of Russia, Georgy Bezumatov, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Bezumatov noted that even though all respective matters are resolved through commercial negotiations, no market doping is observed.

He added that the vacuum, which had come about in Russia as a result its embargo on fruits from Turkey, has been filled with more fruit imports from several other countries.

As per Georgy Bezumatov, considerable changes are not yet expected in the geographical scope of the Russian imports of grapes and apricots, which are the main fruits exported from Armenia.
