YEREVAN. – The gold reserves of Azerbaijan have reduced, and they are less than $5 billion.

Caucasus Institute Director, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan, said the aforementioned at a press conference on Monday.

In addition, as per the analyst, Azerbaijan has stopped updating its websites, and even the ones in Azerbaijani.

“The Azerbaijanis have ‘faded’ a lot lately,” Iskandaryan noted. “On the other hand, interesting dynamics are observed at the [Karabakh-Azerbaijan] Line of Contact.”

The political scientist recalled that the Kashen (Tsaghkashen) mine, which operates with foreign participation, has opened in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

“This is fundamentally is more important than the PACE [i.e. the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe] resolution[s],” Alexander Iskandaryan added. 

Two anti-Armenian resolutions will be put to a vote on Tuesday at the PACE Winter Session. They are PACE MP Robert Walter’s (UK) report entitled “Escalation of Violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and Other Occupied Territories of Azerbaijan,” and PACE MP Milica Marković’s (Bosnia and Herzegovina) report about Sarsang Reservoir in Nagorno-Karabakh, and entitled “Inhabitants of frontier regions of Azerbaijan are deliberately deprived of water.”
