YEREVAN. - The understanding that Karabakh is not only a territory but also people living in it is growing in the EU-Armenia Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.

Committee member Aghvan Vardanyan, who is also Secretary of the National Assembly Faction of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am after the Committee meeting on January 16. 

He noted that in the final statement of the Committee issued on January 16, the Armenian and European MPs urged the EU to involve students and teachers from conflict regions – such as Karabakh - in exchange and mobility programs, as pointed in the Bologna Declaration adopted in May 2015 by all the EU states and the EU Commission. “There has been no precedent of such mentioning of Nagorno-Karabakh, and we achieved this due to the joint work of the MPs in power and those representing the opposition,” Vardanyan said.
