YEREVAN. – The ongoing negotiations between the opposition Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party and the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), and with respect to forming a coalition government, are still only negotiations.

RPA MP Sukias Avetisyan stated the aforementioned at a press conference on Tuesday.

“There was a political consensus [between the two parties] also during discussions on the text of the constitutional amendments [which passed through a referendum on December 6, 2015], and this is the natural continuation of the collaboration,” Avetisyan said. “Time will tell whether or not the collaboration will be in the form of a coalition.

“I think that the new Constitution will enable the coalition government to last long.”
