YEREVAN. – In 2015, Armenia ranked 95th among 168 countries in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), which is issued by the Transparency International non-governmental organization.

Executive director of the Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center in Armenia, Varuzhan Hoktanyan, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Wednesday.

“Neither progress nor regress is recorded in Armenia ever since 2013,” Hoktanyan said. “If we [i.e. Armenia] are compared with the neighbors, Turkey is in better shape, whereas Azerbaijan and Iran are in worse shape.”

In his words, Armenia shares the 95th place with Mali, Mexico, and the Philippines.

In addition, the country’s 2015 CPI has dropped by one spot, as compared to the previous year.
