YEREVAN. - One doesn’t become a patriot by crying about patriotism.

Participant of the Karabakh War, composer David Amalyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am today.

He also noted that those who love and fight for the homeland, do this silently without indulging in breast-beating.

“The soldier on the frontline is our sanctuary, army is the church and we must do our best for our people and army. Our guys, who live ordinary life and who are not students, reach the frontline and become intellectuals there; they get educated there,” Amalyan said.

“Up to now, upon seeing us, our senior friends call us "chickens". Unfortunately, three of our 14 friends are already gone. When gathering with friends, we still remember our crossed path with humor,” the participant of the Karabakh War said.

Amalyan also noted that his parents didn’t know that he was going to take part in the Karabakh War. He told them he “went somewhere for business.”  “I’m sure that our parents were secretly proud of us,” Amalyan concluded.
