September 15, a blast on the sector of Bulgartransgaz EAD pipeline cut off supplies to Turkey. Russia’s state-run gas monopoly Gazprom transits gas to Turkey via Bulgaria. No victims were reported in the explosion.
The blast was caused by technical bugs. The police of Yambol city reported the explosion destroyed 15 meters of the pipeline.
Gas supplies from Russia to Turkey are limited. According to experts, the pipeline will be repaired till September 17, thereafter the supplies will be resumed.
