Armenian Culture Ministry did not receive an official invitation to participate in the liturgy in Surb Khach Church on Akhtamar island, to be held on September 19, Head of the Foreign Relations Department under RA Culture Ministry Susanna Khachatryan told NEWS.am.

“To date the ministry has not got any invitation. No official invitation can be received, as Armenia and Turkey do not have diplomatic relations and the Ministry does not cooperate with Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism,” Khachatryan said.

As reported previously, Turkish Premier Recep Erdogan emailed letters to a number of public organizations analysts, journalists and public figures of Armenia, inviting them to visit Turkey on September 17-22 and attend the liturgy. The religious service in Surb Khach will be held on September 19.
