On September 15, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Tehran, RA Foreign Office press service informed NEWS.am.

The officials expressed content with the multifaceted relations between the two states and discussed the agreements reached during the Iranian President’s visit to Armenia in 2009. Nalbandian appreciated high Iran’s friendly attitude towards the Armenian community.  In his turn, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad conveyed his warm greetings to RA President Serzh Sargsyan.

Edward Nalbandian also met with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki in Tehran. The ministers discussed the activities of the Armenia-Iran intergovernmental commission, having an important role in bilateral economic cooperation, development of joint programs and their implementation.

The Foreign Ministers discussed regional issues. Nalbandian presented Mottaki the recent developments in the Karabkah peace process and stressed Iran’s balanced constructive stance on the issue. In his turn, Mottaki presented the developments over Iran’s nuke program and the nuclear talks with the international community. In this regard, Nalbandian expressed hope Iran and the world community will find an acceptable solution with joint efforts.

Armenian FM also met with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili. The officials discussed the cooperation between the national security councils of the two states.

The same day Edward Nalbandian visited the Armenian Primacy in Tehran and met with the representatives of the Armenian community.
