YEREVAN. – The Armenian court reached a verdict regarding Turkish citizen Kerem Yetgin, who had illegally crossed the border of Armenia.

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned the aforesaid from the Judicial Information System.

According to the indictment, Yetgin aimed to illegally enter Armenia from Turkey. Reaching the Armenian-Turkish national border from Turkey on July 15, 2015, he illegally crossed the border and entered Armenia through Yeghegnavan village in Ararat Province. But several hours later, Yetgin was found by the Russian border guards who protect Armenia’s borders.

Compliant with the defendant’s petition, a speedy trial was conducted. The court found Turkish citizen Kerem Yetgin guilty of committing a criminal offense, and sentenced him to one year in prison.
