YEREVAN. - 3-year old Abraham was diagnosed with lung cancer 5 months ago. Following this, Abraham has become more silent and withdrawn. At the same time he has got more attached to his hobby: Abraham’s dreams about colorful life are depicted in the pictures he makes with oil paints and plasticine. 

His pictures along with those of other children with cancer were today displayed at a trade fair held at Muratsan Hospital Complex of Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU).

“This kind of events aim to unite people around this issue, as well as make children’s every-day life more interesting” hospital’s pediatric oncologist Gevorg Tamamyan told Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

The exhibition displayed the works of the children under treatment, as well as those who have already overcome the disease.

6-year-old Rouzanna has overcome leukemia which she was diagnosed with years ago.

“When I grow up, I’ll become a nail technician,” she says, pointing to her colorful picture. Her mother hurries to say happily that Rouzanna has already recovered and visits hospital only for preventive check-ups.

The exhibition was organized by YSMU Muratsan Hospital and Armenian Association of Hematology and Oncology. The entire proceeds from the trade will be directed to the treatment of children with cancer.

The trade fair was also attended by Indian Ambassador to Armenian Suresh Babu.

February 15 is the International Childhood Cancer Day.
