YEREVAN. - Armenia may be of interest to the Belarusian business as a commodity transit route from Iran.

Armenian Minister of Economy Karen Chshmaritian stated the aforementioned at a briefing following the Armenian-Belarusian Intergovernmental Commission session.

To the question on whether Armenia can facilitate customs clearance by the invoice price and reduce the practice of reference prices according to the model of Belarus, Chshmaritian noted that this and other issues will be solved in the framework of the amendments to the customs legislation and future Tax Code, and this will be done in favor of the business.

“The Belarusian practice is important here, and not only the Belarusian one, but also that of other developed countries: this is the path to civilized trade. In the very near future you will see the concrete system, which will satisfy everyone, including the same Belarusian companies which will transport the Iranian cargo via the territory of Armenia,” Chshmaritian stated.
