YEREVAN. – British Film Festival has already gained a steady spot on the cultural calendar of Armenia, the UK Ambassador, Judith Farnworth, told reporters Saturday at the opening ceremony.

The embassy is happy to support the initiative alongside the British Council, she added.

Sharing culture is an important subject of the cooperation between UK and Armenia, and the British Council have selected some “really fantastic” films.

“I hope to go and see as many as I can,” she added. “Interesting as they are, they may also prove thought-provoking, calling for a new perspective of the world, and maybe challenging views on things like human tights and diversity.”

The 14th British Film Festival in Armenia will host a week of screenings (until February 26) three times a day at Moscow Cinema in capital city Yerevan, and then will make its way into the provinces. For this year, the organizers have picked Aparan, Dilijan, and Alaverdi towns.
