Iran and Azerbaijan signed a package of bilateral documents today.
The package consists of 11 agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoU). The documents were signed in the framework of the Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev’s official visit to Tehran.
The signed documents include agreements on cooperation in eliminating and mitigating the consequences of emergency situations, mutual administrative assistance in customs issues, cooperation in veterinary and livestock health, a framework agreement on selling electricity, as well as one on linking the Iranian and Azerbaijani railways and an Agreement on a border railway bridge between Iranian Astara and Azerbaijani Astara.
Apart from this, a MoU on cooperation between the Azerbaijani State Committee of Family, Women and Children Affairs and Iran’s vice-presidency for women and family affairs, MoU on cooperation in health and medical sciences. MoU on cooperation between Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare of Iran, and MoU on cooperation between State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and National Iranian Oil Company were signed.
