YEREVAN. – As a result of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia (RA) and the UN agencies, close to 1,500 Syrian Armenians have been included in a variety of projects, and several hundreds of them have been employed in Armenia.

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Artem Asatryan, on Wednesday stated the aforementioned speaking at a workshop.

The minister stressed that the main challenge facing the Syrian Armenians in Armenia is employment.

“On the other hand, our Syrian compatriots are also included in all social programs intended for the RA citizens,” Asatryan added. “The social guarantees, which are intended for the RA citizens, fully apply also for our Syrian compatriots.”
