YEREVAN. – The political collaboration between the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun Party will yield some results in terms of the challenges which the country faces today, RPA MP Lernik Aleksanyan said at a press conference on Saturday.

In his words, these two political parties have the same objective: the creation of a strong country which is capable of solving national problems.

“We [i.e. Armenia] have a problem of establishment of state institutions,” Aleksanyan noted. “The situation in the region demands that a variety of forces exist in our political arena.”

The RPA deputy stressed that his party is criticized a lot that since it has 50 percent of the seats in Parliament, it does not need a coalition.

“But additional political resources are needed to maintain political stability in the country,” Lernik Aleksanyan added.

The RPA and the ARF on Wednesday signed a political cooperation agreement, pursuant to which three ministerial and two provincial governor positions are allocated to the ARF.
