YEREVAN. - A group of animal lovers launched a flashmob entitled “We demand law on protection of domestic animals”in Yerevan. They suggest sending letters to the Armenian PM via [email protected].
Ovsanna Hovsepyan, head of the “Dingo Team” dealing with the protection of dogs, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.
“The letter should mention the following: Dear H. Abrahamyan, As an Armenian I demand the Government to draw out a law on protection of domestic animals, according to which all the issues related to the domestic animals, including the legal ban of slaughter, will be regulated within the limits of the law,” Ovsanna Hovsepyan said.
According to her, the originally planned petition has been substituted by a flashmob to manifest that not only a few dozens of animal lovers but numerous people are concerned about the issue. Within a few hours, 50 letters were already sent. The initiators hope that before the end of the flashmob, the number of letters will reach several thousands.
In Ovsanna Hovespyan's words, they won’t give up unless the aforementioned law is adopted.
The initiators say the idea of a flashmob crossed their mind yesterday after the demand of several dozens of animal lovers to stop animal slaughter in Yerevan was ignored by Yerevan Municipality and Government.
