YEREVAN. – Until the political forces in Armenia get more active, it cannot be ruled out that a wave of societal protest would  rise in the country, come spring.

Secretary of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) National Assembly Faction, Aram Manukyan, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Monday.

“The number of suicides has increased, thefts have increased [in Armenia],” Manukyan said. “For that reason, I believe [that] the protest actions for societal problems will be staged in spring.” 

Reflecting on their upcoming plans and the parliamentary election to be conducted in 2017, the ANC MP stressed that this time they will be meticulous in order to achieve results. 

“One year ago, we were collaborating with two [other opposition] political forces,” Aram Manukyan stressed and rhetorically asked, “But what did we see?”
