YEREVAN. – The Armenian Government-Affiliated General Department of Civil Aviation (GDCA) has not yet received any petition from the Russian Pobeda Airlines toward conducting flights to—Armenia’s capital city of—Yerevan, GDCA Press Secretary Ruben Grdzelyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am

According to the Russian side, however, Pobeda has already received authorization to conduct flights to Armenia. In particular, this airline plans to conduct four weekly flights between Yerevan and Sochi, Russia.

“At this time, the Armenian side has not received an official petition from the Russian airline company,” Grdzelyan said. “According to the procedure, they need to petition to Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which [in turn] will forward the petition to us.”

Pobeda Airlines LLC, which was founded in September 2014, is a Russian low-cost airline.
