YEREVAN. - In 2016, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) will help textile enterprises of Armenia register common export brand 5900 B.V.

UNIDO’s Head of Operations in Armenia, Anahit Simonyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.

In her words, in the framework of the program launched in fall 2014, an apparel collection has already been prepared under the guidance of designers from Italy. Besides,  a brand was developed under which the Armenian fashion will be presented at foreign exhibitions.

Apart from clothes, the design development program will also extend to shoes and accessories. With this regard, proposals have already been made to donor organizations.  

“In 2016, the component on apparel will be continued. Support will be provided to Armenian textile companies in getting registered in export consortium with a single brand. The companies already see common interests,” Simonyan said.

Besides, the work on replenishing the collection will continue. New knowledge will be transferred on marketing in the Russian market, which has been chosen as a target one.

Currently, the marketing specialists are working with business, helping to develop strategies on price formation and export.

“We continue promoting the collection in Russia and conduct talks on attracting orders.  When there are results in a form of contracts, the next word will be that of the business,” UNIDO representative added.  

The project on increasing compatibility of textile and sewing areas of Armenia - implemented by UNIDO – is funded by the Russian Federation.
