YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov, who is on a working visit to Saint Petersburg, Russia, on Tuesday met with Secretary General-Head of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) Council Secretariat, Alexey Sergeev.

Sharmazanov’s staff informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the interlocutors discussed the Armenian NA delegation’s participation in the activities of the IPA CIS.

Sergeev lauded the NA representatives’ active involvement in the IPA CIS activities. Sharmazanov, for his part, reaffirmed that the Armenian parliament stands ready to continue its involved engagement in these activities. 

Also, the NA deputy speaker underscored the IPA CIS observation mission’s participation in monitoring the preparation and conduct of the referendum on constitutional reforms in Armenia. The IPA CIS Council Secretary General, in turn, congratulated the NA vice president on the holding of this plebiscite in Armenia.
